Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out the acceptable use expectations for all users of Stableridge Systems platform, services, and shared content.

Last updated: 24 February 2026

This document is general information and does not constitute legal advice.

1. Purpose & Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all individuals and organisations that access or use the Stableridge platform, APIs, or content shared through the platform. This includes:

  • Registered customers and tenant administrators.
  • Users provisioned within a customer tenant (employees, contractors, collaborators).
  • Recipients of shared content via share links, viewer access, or one-time passcode delivery.
  • Developers and systems accessing the Stableridge API.

This AUP supplements the Terms & Conditions and applies alongside any applicable engagement letter or statement of work.

2. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Stableridge platform or services to:

  • Engage in any activity that is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful under applicable law.
  • Upload, store, or distribute content that infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights of any third party.
  • Distribute malware, ransomware, viruses, or any software designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to systems.
  • Conduct security testing, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or load testing against the platform without prior written approval from Stableridge.
  • Attempt to access accounts, tenants, content, or infrastructure components for which you are not authorised.
  • Share, sell, or distribute account credentials, API keys, or authentication tokens to unauthorised parties.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation through the platform's identity or sharing features.
  • Use the platform for purposes that could damage the reputation, operations, or security posture of Stableridge or its customers.

3. Share Link & Token Restrictions

Share links and one-time passcodes provide controlled access to content under the policies configured by the sharing tenant. The following restrictions apply to all recipients and systems interacting with shared content:

  • Share link tokens must be treated as confidential. Do not publish, index, or distribute share links beyond the intended recipients.
  • Automated enumeration, brute-force guessing, or scraping of share link endpoints is prohibited.
  • Attempting to bypass policy controls (view limits, expiry dates, download restrictions, watermarking) through technical means is a violation of this AUP.
  • Programmatic access to shared content via the API must comply with documented rate limits and authentication requirements.

4. Rate Limiting & Abuse Prevention

The Stableridge platform applies rate limiting and abuse prevention controls to protect service availability and security. These controls may include request rate limits, concurrent session limits, and automated anomaly detection.

Users and systems that exceed documented rate limits or exhibit patterns consistent with automated abuse may experience temporary access restrictions. Persistent or deliberate attempts to circumvent these controls constitute a violation of this AUP.

5. Enforcement Actions

Stableridge reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to AUP violations. Enforcement actions may include, at our discretion:

  • Issuing a warning or requesting remediation within a specified timeframe.
  • Suspending or restricting access to the platform, specific features, or shared content.
  • Revoking share links or disabling content distribution for affected resources.
  • Terminating the account or tenant in accordance with the Terms & Conditions.
  • Reporting suspected illegal activity to the relevant authorities.

The severity of enforcement will be proportionate to the nature and impact of the violation. Where practicable, we will provide notice before taking action, except where immediate action is required to protect security or comply with legal obligations.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you become aware of any misuse of the Stableridge platform or shared content, or if you believe this AUP has been violated, please report it through our contact page. Include a description of the concern, any relevant identifiers (such as share link URLs or account references), and the approximate time of the observed activity.

Stableridge will review all reports and respond within a reasonable timeframe. We treat abuse reports confidentially and will not disclose reporter identity without consent, except as required by law.
